Internship — State Library of Florida, Cataloging Section (Tallahassee)

Position: Library Intern at State Library of Florida, Cataloging Section

Job description: This internship offers the chance to get hands-on experience working in the Cataloging Section of the State Library of Florida in the Florida Division of Library and Information Services, Department of State, Tallahassee, Florida. The State Library of Florida has several special collections, including Florida related books, maps, microfilm and Florida state publications. The intern will receive training in using the OCLC Connexion bibliographic database and the SirsiDynix library system. A special project will be assigned to the intern to organize, implement and complete during the semester.

Compensation: Unpaid internship course credit or volunteer hours

Qualifications:   Excellent computer skills. Interest in learning about policies and procedures for cataloging in online library systems and maintaining collections.
