Data Internship from NCDS
The application deadline is approaching for the NNLM National Center for Data Services first annual summer data internship for graduate students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups. Applications are open through March 31st. In the next few days, if you find you need more time, please contact us at nnlm-ncds@nyulangone.org for support.
The goal of the NCDS Internship Program is to diversify the field of data librarianship and provide practical experiences that include understanding the data lifecycle and working with data. The projects are structured activities including data cleaning, structuring, analysis, or visualization. These paid internships offer opportunities to gain practical experience while working with a mentor in a guided environment on structured, data-related projects. The practical experiences developed during the internship will provide participants with skills needed to be competitive for data librarian positions. The internship is a paid 10-week summer program, working 10 hours per week at $20/hour. To be eligible, you must be a full-time graduate student and member of an underrepresented racial or ethnic group. No prior data experience/skills are required.
