SUMMARY:

The IT Specialist’s role is to assist in the every day management of a middle school network. This will include management and maintenance of the site infrastructure to include, but not limited to support, of software, hardware, and network equipment. This is a mixed Apple and PC environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain updates for all Windows and Apple computers.
• Check in and out systems for maintenance purposes.
• Inventory all infrastructure and system equipment.
• Perform Helpdesk duties when necessary.
• Monitor computer lab equipment and activities.
• Help administer Internet activity control software.
• Train users in general computer and software use as needed.
• Other duties, as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Technology:

Familiarity with PC desktop and notebook technologies

Familiarity with Apple iMacs and MacBook Pros

Familiarity with common used software to include but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Safari web browser, Mac Mail, etc.

Familiarity with printers both network and local

Ability to adapt quickly to ever changing situations
