Digital Strategist Intern Description: The James Madison Institute (JMI) seeks a dynamic self-starter to intern with the team as a Digital Strategist intern. The Digital Strategist intern is responsible for assisting the communications team with meeting the day-to-day communications needs of JMI. The Digital Strategist intern works closely with the VP of Communications to advance the placement of JMI ideas and scholars through online presence management including overseeing JMI’s various social media platforms, updating the JMI website, assisting with weekly email outreach to membership, monitoring all online mentions of JMI including news clips, wiki pages, Google places, etc.
An ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable proactively pitching ideas to the VP of Communications to further JMI’s online presence and outreach to the demographics that utilize these platforms. This candidate should be continuously seeking new ways to inject JMI’s policy ideas into the modern debate.
Minimum Requirements • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week • Strong writing ability • Impeccable attention to detail • Experience maintaining social media platforms • Ability to multitask • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office software suite • Willingness to perform all tasks with a positive attitude • Video production and graphic design experience not necessary, but strongly desired
