Position Overview
New Student & Family Programs (NSFP) at Florida State University is looking for a Family Weekend Marketing Intern that will assist with the design and creation of printed and digital materials that will be used for Family Weekend in Fall 2025. As we move forward with planning Family Weekend 2025, NSFP hopes to use this position as a means of refreshing and re-branding our Family Weekend materials to use for years to come.
Learning Objectives
1. Brand Development: The student will be able to design and create a cohesive branding strategy for Family Weekend, including visual elements and messaging that align with both NSFP and Florida State University branding guidelines.
2. Assessment and Evaluation: The student will conduct an analysis of previous Family Weekend materials and marketing efforts, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, which will enhance data-informed decisions.
3. Project Management: The student will oversee the content creation process and be expected to adhere to deadlines, produce quality work, and engage with stakeholders to ensure success.
Responsibilities
• Create and manage a refreshed Family Weekend image/brand.
• Conduct an analysis of previous Family Weekend materials, programming, and digital marketing to identify opportunities for growth as it relates to our image.
• Assist in the development and execution of printed and digital Family Weekend materials, including the Family Weekend calendar, website, event signs, t-shirts, swag items, social media, and more.
• Create brand materials and elements that can be shared with campus partners to support cohesion and the Family Weekend image.
• Help define the Family Weekend brand guidelines and ensure cohesiveness with Florida State University branding.
• Outline a content calendar/plan for Family Weekend marketing, both digitally and printed, for NSFP platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, CampusESP).
• Work closely with NSFP Coordinator and additional stakeholders such as the NSFP Staff, Division of Student Affairs Marketing Office, Family Weekend Committee, and more.
• Other duties and opportunities as assigned.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled undergraduate student, preferably earning a degree in Advertising, Media/Communication Studies, Marketing, or something similar.
• Experience with technology and programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or Canva.
• Knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time while ensuring quality and meeting deadlines.
Commitments
• Complete 5-10 paid, in-person office hours per week.
Pay rate would be $13 per hour.
• Meet weekly or bi-weekly with supervisor for updates and check-ins.
• Attend any necessary meetings related to Family Weekend 2025.
