An unpaid intern position requiring a minimum of eight hours per week throughout the semester, course credit available.

 

About us:

We are the Florida State University Alumni Association: we help FSU grads stay connected with fellow alumni and the Florida State campus. We host dozens of receptions and networking events for FSU alumni each year, publish VIRES magazine biannually, award Legacy Scholarships to new FSU students, honor alumni through the Thirty Under 30, Circle of Gold, and Grads Made Good award programs, and coordinate a network of more than 80 Seminole Clubs and Chapters across the country.  Our offices are at the Alumni Center, next to the President’s House, one block from the Oglesby Union.

 

What you’ll be doing:

Working in our content management system (CMS) to update existing web pages with information we provide to you.

Using your knowledge of web design to create new pages that look beautiful but also fit with the current website design, using words and images we provide .

 

You must…

Have a passion for being a Florida State Seminole.

Know and love HTML & CSS.

Have an eye for good web design and a keen attention to detail.

Know when the WYSIWYG editor is good enough, and when to break out a text editor to tweak your code by hand.

Understand common cross-browser compatibility problems.

Know how to validate your code.

 

It would be nice if you have…

Knowledge of JS and jQuery

Familiarity with Google Analytics

Experience using URL shorteners

 

This is for you if…

You’re eligible for Federal Work Study for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters.

You can work in our office during business hours for at least eight hours each week during those semesters.

You want to work on a small team with experienced professionals and fellow students.

You want responsibility to create page layouts and write your own HTML & CSS code.

You want to be able to show future employers web pages you created; people will see what you build.
