Assistant Director of Student and Alumni Engagement @ FSU CCI

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and organization of the alumni relations program in the College of Communication and Information (CCI). Connects current students and alumni, the college, and institution to advance Florida State. Builds upon the CCI advancement infrastructure to develop and support alumni relations and engagement across the college.
  • Develop and implement plan to connect current students with CCI alumni; manage programming, events/activities including but not limited to Scholars & Stars, Distinguished Alumni Awards, and other college-wide engagement events. Develop, organize, implement, and evaluate the CCI student and alumni outreach and engagement events including national, regional and virtual outreach; develop in-person and virtual engagement strategies.
  • Plan, execute, and manage opportunities to engage alumni, parents, students and friends through college-wide programs, communication and events that meet the strategic priorities of CCI. Work collaboratively with development team to support programming and translate engagement into giving in line with University Advancement and College priorities. Influence donor cycle through engagement that supports identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Participate in campus-wide alumni engagement activities including but not limited to participation in FSU Commencement three times per year, Seminole 100 and FSU Homecoming Activities – includes staffing, volunteer recruitment, nominations.
  • Manage budget process from planning to implementation to tracking and reconciling.
  • Collaborate with the development team to manage and/or provide support to key volunteer and student groups including the CCI’s Leadership Board, the Center for Hispanic Marketing Advisory Board and serve as the liaison to the Student Leadership Council; support event planning, volunteer and student recruitment process and onboarding of volunteers and students throughout the College; understand development goals as integral part of informing outreach.
  • Develop, implement and manage the College’s Alumni Relations program which will include both student and alumni enculturation programming, as well as programming aimed at advancing the College’s goals and objectives. Works collaboratively with development team to support programming and translate engagement into giving. Play an active role in donor cycle through engagement that supports identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
  • Create messaging that encourages alumni engagement including digital and print media, leverage digital displays around buildings and educating on a culture of engagement and philanthropy; Actively cultivate content to amplify stories across media including print, blog, social. Collaborate with the College’s Communication team and provide relevant communications and logistics that engages students, alumni and supporters. Serve as CCI’s liaison to the FSU Career Center, Alumni Campus Partners; leverage existing programming as appropriate including Women for FSU, Alumni Networks and Seminole Clubs.
  • Oversee CCI alumni engagement data management; evaluate current outreach, programs and engagement using surveys and other data to inform decision making and strategy; data maintenance on student and alumni engagement activities; understand and leverage industry best practices for alumni metrics. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience related to the job duties or in an advancement field; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years related to the job duties or in an advancement field. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Valid FL or GA Driver’s License or the ability to obtain.
