Data Analyst @ NBCUniversal

NBCUniversal Local is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, and motivated self-starter to support innovation in our Audience Management and Ad Impact efforts for the NBC, Telemundo, and Regional Sports Network portfolio. Audience Management is the collection of NBCU’s data-driven, advertising products, including NBCU Local OTT (i.e. Peacock, Spot On, FEP) and other digital channel products. Ad Impact/Attribution is the strategic partnerships with agencies and clients for the measurement of the effectiveness of advertiser campaigns and sponsorships across NBCU content, platforms and partnerships.This position will support our managers, playing a key role in digital and convergent data tactics and strategies to ensure operational efficiency of audience-targeted ad products; and cross-funnel campaign measurement from end-to-end to ensure maximum effectiveness of advertiser campaigns and sponsorships.You will report to the Sr. Manager of Digital Research.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with vendors and NBCU stakeholders to ensure audience targets are sourced, delivered, and available for the execution of targeted digital campaigns. Partner with manager to establish success in campaign measurement, adherence to project milestones, and delivery of results withing tight deadlines.
  • Partner with the digital leads within the larger Ad Sales group to provide audience management guidance and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Leverage coding and programming skills to analyze various datasets to better support audience-targeted campaign operations and troubleshooting processes more efficient.
  • Pull data from research tools, dashboards, and data files from vendors to gather insights about campaign performance.
  • Assist in creating advertiser presentations that communicate insights and recommendations in visually compelling formats.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Four-year degree (B.A., B.S.) from an accredited college or university, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Media, Math, Statistics, Marketing Analytics or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Must be well versed in MS Office (formatting, creating charts/graphs, pivot tables and formulas), MS macro is a plus.
  • Customer service orientation (internal and external customers).
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills – collaborative and positive spirit is key!
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the capacity to deliver on multiple projects, contribute new ideas, meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret and visualize data with client needs in mind.
  • Previous internship experience with agency/media/publisher/tech is a plus.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of TV and digital media research.
  • Knowledge of programs from Nielsen, Simmons Research, Kantar Media, Claritas, comScore, Adobe, Google, FreeWheel, etc.
  • Familiarity with analytics and cross channel measurement.
  • Experience with either (or both) syndicated and custom brand impact and attribution partners. Examples include Nielsen systems, comScore, KMB, EDO, Phoenix TV and Digital Brand Effect, LiveRamp / Data Plus Math, NCS, ListenFirst, Nielsen Social and YouGov.
  • Data visualization, language skills a plus (DOMO, Tableau, Microstrategy, SQL, R, Python, etc.)
