The Panama City News Herald seeks a page designer/copy editor for its regional copy desk located in Panama City, Fla. The right candidate will join a team responsible for the design and copy editing of two daily and eight weekly newspapers in the Florida Panhandle. The position is based in Panama City, just a bike ride from the Gulf of Mexico. Candidates for this position must have layout experience, editing skills and solid news judgment and awareness. Daily tasks will include laying out multiple pages, including section fronts; selecting wire copy; editing local and wire copy; writing headlines; and selecting photos. Entry-level applicants will be considered, but candidates without design samples need not apply.
