Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Digital Scholarship, this position will support applications and tools for incoming and ongoing research projects and pedagogical initiatives. As part of the newly established Office of Digital Research and Scholarship (DRS), the candidate will integrate with a productive and innovative team of librarians, archivists, and developers to advance our research agenda, particularly with a focus on the agile development of infrastructure for supporting digital scholarship.Coordinates the use and integration of digital tools and platforms for analysis, visualization, presentation, and reuse of content.Assists the Digital Humanities Specialist in training, using, and deploying new computational methods of analysis such as text mining, topic modeling, social network analysis, or mapping and visualizing data.Communicates with web developers, system administrators, and project managers in the evaluation, education and implementation of a robust digital scholarship infrastructure.Collaborates with the Office of Digital Research and Scholarship (DRS) and other units within the FSU Libraries to explore the ways in which research is conducted in an environment of data sharing. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience related to the duties of this position (Note: post-high school education/experience can substitute at the comparable rate.)
Knowledge of basic project management techniques, with a focus on technology-driven research projects.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritizing work to ensure that departmental and library goals are realized.
Excellent organizational skills, proven problem solving ability, and flexibility.
Demonstrated initiative in fostering innovative ideas and implementing change.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred
Experience in one or more fields relevant to data curation and/or technology.
Advanced degree in humanities, social sciences, librarianship, or related field.
Experience with repository platforms, content management systems, and data manipulation tools.
Prior experience in data visualization and/or data-mining.
Working knowledge or advanced training with XML and SQL.
Working knowledge of Linked Data principles and scripting languages, such as Python, Ruby, PHP, XSLT, and APIs.
One (1) year experience programming on UNIX-based systems using LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP) stack or equivalent.
Experience with, and enthusiasm for, open source software principles, development and tools.
Ability to write documentation and communicate effectively in a team environment.
An understanding of the research life cycle as demonstrated by academic or work experience.
Anticipated Salary Range
Department may hire at or above $47,658.60 based on education and experience.
Schedule
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.

Pay Plan
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
