Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for support and maintenance of FSU Middleware systems. These include F5 BIG-IP, GlassFish, WebLogic, Tomcat, ColdFusion, CAS (Central Authentication System), Shibboleth and Automic Automation Engine. What we do isn’t limited to that, so experience in just one or none is fine.
The ideal candidate has a passion for connecting technology with people, an eye for detail, ability to prioritize, top-notch customer service skills and a great attitude! The ideal candidate also has five or more years of professional Linux OS or application administration experience, working knowledge of networking fundamentals and can learn new applications quickly. You’ll also need at least 8 years of total work experience (degrees can substitute experience).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years’ experience or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Experience analyzing performance, resolving issues, and tuning application parameters as needed, to include troubleshooting, researching errors, and applying appropriate reconfigurations or patches/fixes as necessary.
Experience in identifying and implementing improvements and enhancements for all components that compromise the middleware domain (or similar types of software).
Experience conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
Experience utilizing problem solving and technical skills.
Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.
Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience documenting existing and new processes.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
