Magnolia is the seat of beautiful Columbia County located deep in the verdant forests of South Arkansas.  With a thriving, historic downtown square patterned after Oxford, Mississippi, our area is known for its southern charm, mild seasons and great focus upon the arts.  Our impressive new public library is located one block from the university and serves a wide array of patrons.  The Board of Trustees of the Columbia County Library is seeking an experienced administrator with the energy, vision, passion, and commitment to quality service that will enable our library to build upon an already established successful program.

 

The director is responsible for strategic planning, facilities management, budget development, program formation and implementation.  Successful candidates must have excellent verbal, written, and diplomatic skills, demonstrated leadership ability, integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively with board, staff and community groups.  The director must have an ALA-accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science with 5 years of progressively responsible, professional library experience.  A willingness to remain abreast of current trends within the literary community and a command of technological skills is compulsory.
