Summary of Duties: Plan, organize, and manage training and educational programs for Division IT Shared Services Center. Design training and educational programs for information systems professionals including application services, customer support personnel, desktop fix agents, and all management personnel. Identify Division training needs for all IT employees and opportunities for improvement. Lead the development of training curriculum and educational programs for Division-specific applications or products. Act as the Division expert on all learning-related technologies such as HealthStream Learning Management System (LMS) and Centra (including eMeeting functionality and virtual classroom training tool). Maintain knowledge and understanding of HCA IT&S course offerings. Maintain the Division educational center and training libraries. Provide training and communication information to all departments to effectively and accurately launch new project or revised courses. Work with Educational Specialist and subject matter experts to stay abreast of changes to products, processes, or technology. This position may also lead teams or projects and is responsible for sharing knowledge and mentoring others. Act as Division liaison to Corporate IT&S (Learning Solutions) department.
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
Responsible for daily management of IT&S training and education programs and their implementation
Acts as HealthStream Product Owner for Division IT
Acts as Centra Product Owner for Division
Responsible for administrative and/or clinical direction in compliance with JCAHO
Establishes strategic plan for training existing staff on new computer system functionality
Establishes plan and coordinates, with all hospitals, the appropriate computer system training for all new employees
Works with IT&S security to assure that proper training is performed in advance of any access authorization
Establishes other computer tools training, such as MS Office products, and effectively communicates the availability of these classes to the Division
Conducts training needs analysis to determine training objectives, instructional strategies, and project scope
Researches, evaluates and selects outside consultants and trainers to conduct training in specific topics.
Investigates and implements alternative training delivery methods and/or current and emerging technology trends
Works closely with IT and business units in training needs assessment and vendor selection
Customizes training programs or oversees customization requirements that meet organizational needs
Supports the Division CIO as IT&S Communication Specialist as required. Duties many include:
o Write, edit, and proofread official communications
o Create newsletters, web content, and other promotional materials
o Participate in the development and execution of division communications plans
Adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statements
Assists with other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in adult learning, learning methodologies and course/curriculum design.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple, complex projects; strong project management and follow-up skills; strong ability to multi-task and continually prioritize changing projects tasks/deliverables
Organization – proactively prioritizes needs and effectively manages resources
Communication – communicates clearly and concisely
Customer orientation – establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
PC skills – demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required Education
College graduate preferred Experience:
At least three years experience Preferred
Knowledge of eLearning tools such as Flash, Captivate, Centra or other synchronous distance learning tools, and Photoshop or other similar tools. Certification/Licensure: N/A Physical Demands/Working Conditions:Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
