Electronic Resources Librarian

Sam  Houston State is a campus of 16,000 students is located 50 min north of Houston.

DESCRIPTION.  This is a tenure-track, assistant professor, 12-month position. Sam Houston State seeks a service-oriented, energetic individual to provide leadership and expertise for defining and supplying appropriate access to the  library’s e-resources in a team environment. This individual will coordinate acquisitions and licensing activities related to e-resources according to national standards and local policy; take part in reference rotation; and be involved in library teams and other professional and scholarly activities in keeping with university faculty guidelines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS.  An ALA-accredited MLIS.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS.  Experience with management and access issues associated with e-resources; ability to manage complex workload effectively with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS. Experience with a link resolver, HTML and web editing tools (e.g., Dreamweaver); development and maintenance of e-resource management tools; knowledge of trends in resource connectivity.

COMPENSATION and PAY.  Minimum salary $42,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
