Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Studies or related field.  One (1) year teaching, graduate internship or relevant experience in a library is also required.

Responsibilities: Daytona State College (DSC) Library is seeking an energetic candidate for a new, full-time Emerging Technologies Librarian position.  This position reports to the Chair of Library Services and the Associate Vice President for the Division of Library and Academic Support.  The Emerging Technology Librarian will play an important role in leading the DSC library with innovative, technology-based services by creating, promoting, and facilitating use of technology resources and services.  The successful candidate will coordinate all DSC library’s information technology and serve a key role in planning projects; manage library Web pages; provide technical support and training for other library staff in technology use; implement usability assessment program; maintain a current understanding of advances in design and technology.  He or she will participate in library efforts to use new technology for instruction, research, and information dissemination; participate in shared professional staff responsibilities for library policy decisions and project planning through committee and work group assignments; manage, configure and maintain the DSC library’s electronic resources on and off campus; diagnose, analyze and solve technical issues in concert with information technology (IT) staff; possess the ability to converse on technological topics with others at all skill level.  The successful candidate will also participate in the liaison program and proactively support the faculty’s teaching interest.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic user of technology who enjoys exploring the cutting edge and applying it in an academic library setting.  We are looking for someone who has the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment (Library, IT and Faculty Innovation Center), takes initiative, is self-directed, and is committed to innovation and creativity.  The Emerging Technologies Librarian should also possess the ability to converse on technological topics with others at all skill levels.

Working Hours: This position may require evening and weekend hours as needed. Work schedule and campus location may vary from semester to semester.

The minimum starting salary is $43,700. Minimal additional compensation may be granted for education and/or experience exceeding the minimum stated job requirements.  This is at sole discretion of Daytona State College.
