Position Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for performing web development and design for DHSMV’s Communications Office. Duties include:
- Design and develop components of multi-tiered web applications
- Interact regularly with others in the company to understand requirements and devise solutions
- Participate in different stages of development including requirements analysis, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Produce well-planned, well-structured, high-quality code
- Develop and design web pages and websites through use of graphics, scripting languages and multimedia
- Recommend new technology to enhance user experience
- Perform testing at the page and source for presentation layer defects
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:
- Ability to review designs and document front end technical specifications
- Ability to provide time estimates for the implementation of features/ functionality
- Knowledgeable of the most current UI, web 2.0 trends and best practices
- Excellent written communication skills and expectation management
- Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- The ability to work in an open, collaborative environment
- Knowledge of responsive design
- Knowledge of Google Analytics
- Skill in Drupal, WordPress, and/ or Magento
- Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server TSQL, Web Services, AJAX, JQuery, Visual Studio 2010
Note:
Preference will given to applicants who have web application development experience with Back-End Developing, HTML, CSS, Java Script, SQL, MVC and C# (ASP .NET)
Please note that candidates may be asked to provide a portfolio of prior website development work as part of the interview process.
Special Note:
The selected applicant must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) criminal history background check.
