Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and six years’ experience related to technical services or Master’s degree and four years’ experience related to technical services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Experience conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.

Experience with documenting processes (new and existing).

Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Experience working successfully in a team-oriented environment.
Background Check Requirements

Preferred
Experience with standard program languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field.

Schedule
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM M-F.

Responsibilities
Dual Reporting: Division of Student Affairs (DSA) and Information Technology Service (ITS) to provide and manage information resources with DSA and support the division*s mission and goals. Responsible for planning, administering, reviewing, and evaluating all activities related to information technology support for DSA.

Serves as Information Technology Manager for the Division of Students Affairs and is responsible for developing and coordinating the goals and objectives related to the overall direction, planning, system implementation and staffing associated with IT resources used by the division. Provides guidance and direction to DSA staff responsible for maintaining IT resources, including computing facilities, computing systems, database administration, software, multimedia equipment and applications. Responsible for DSA and ITS IT goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Interacts on a daily basis with university faculty, staff and students.

Serves as liaison to Information Technology Services. Engages ITS resources where appropriate to evaluate DSA needs and find effective solutions. Evaluates implementation of ITS and other services being used by DSA to ensure the division*s goals are accomplished. Services may include desktop and laptop computer support, management of network infrastructure, networked file storage and telephone services.

Oversees and supports staff associated with the management and support of enterprise packaged (vendor provided) and custom applications primarily used by DSA. Evaluates implementation of applications to ensure the applications are meeting DSA*s needs and expectations. Implements processes with defined service and support expectations enabling the Division to predict costs and potentially reduce the costs associated with its applications. Assists with acquisitions and upgrades when they are required. Works with the Division to develop and implement long term support strategies for all applications.

Consults with the DSA and ITS on strategic planning and determining budgeting needs for information technology staff and resources within the division. Provides advice, recommendations and consults with the executive leaders within Student Affairs. Researches, evaluates and selects and recommends IT equipment and services within University, federal and state guidelines. Provides consultation assistance to faculty and staff in development of new/improved teaching, research or business capabilities. Other duties as required.
