Responsibilities

Serves as the first point of contact relating to the distribution and support of information technology resources, providing problem solving and debugging along with delivering user support to faculty, staff and students. Responsible for troubleshooting and mitigating complex problems related to computer hardware and computer software applications. Performs initial computer hardware and software setup. Analyzes problems, develops solutions and installs/implements computer software and hardware. Serves as liaison with University wide subject matter experts. Must be knowledgeable in a broad, constantly evolving assortment of IT policies, procedures, and technologies. Evaluates available and emerging technologies and makes recommendations regarding suitability for implementation in the technology environment.
Supports all media equipment and services and is responsible for the continual operation and maintenance of all the media equipment in the facilities including projectors, televisions and digital displays, technology podiums, sound systems, microphones mixers (network and stand-alone), cameras (film and digital), video and sound editing equipment, video-equipment, document cameras. Routinely tests and reviews media equipment for quality control and reliability.

Responsible for overseeing A/V and productions needs for JMI/JMSE sponsored events. Provides instruction to Students, Faculty, Staff and Visitors on A/V Equipment use in facilities. May advise event speakers and presenters on media alternatives. Coordinates graphics used in displays and provides technical support for event conferences, teleconferences and webinars. Some events will require occasional support outside of normal business hours.

Responsible for maintaining technology enhanced classrooms and labs, some of which will have specialized software and hardware.
Assists with properly tracking inventory. Monitors supplies and equipment. Sanitizes decommissioned computer equipment for transfer to surplus.
Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience.
Minimum of one-year’s “extensive” experience providing end-user support for Windows 10.
Experience with large screen monitors and connectivity with different input sources.
Experience supporting Audio Visual systems such as cameras, projectors and sound recording/amplification systems.
Experience supporting Skype and GoToMeeting.
Willing to support after-hours events and activities.
Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
Ability to utilize technical skills.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
Knowledge of applicable computer software and operating systems.
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for computer support.
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the network and data field.
Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.
Knowledge of information technology security measures.
Knowledge of the processes involved with inventory management and control.
Knowledge of computer operations, functions, and related peripherals.
Ability to document existing and new processes.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to make purchasing decisions based on independent research and judgment.
Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Preferred

Familiar with Crestron systems
Ability to manage objects, users and permissions in Active Directory
Experience in Security Vulnerability Remediation using tools such as Nexpose
Microsoft certifications for Windows 10 and/or Microsoft Server 2016
Experience working with Web Content Management Systems (Drupal preferred)
Microsoft SharePoint administration experience

Anticipated Salary Range

Negotiable based upon experience.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Schedule

If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
