Job Description

This individual will serve as a reporting expert on Business Intelligence projects. This position will be responsible for architecting solutions based on analyzing data needs and requirements of end users to design and create complex reports and dashboards. Additionally, this role will assist in the design and construction of relational databases to meet the business reporting needs.

This is a project position with an estimated length of 2.5 years.

Responsibilities

• Architect, Design, develop and deploy complex MicroStrategy Reporting solutions.
• Work with other Business Intelligence Architect within data warehouse and BI teams to design reporting solutions for optimal report performance and increased report functionality.
• Function as hands-on report expert and guides others in defining and implementing technical specifications for BI solutions.
• Candidate must have an understanding of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing principles and architectures including the concepts (Understanding of Kimball methodologies), designs and usage of data warehouses and data marts.
• Relevant experience with data centric projects such as data warehouses, relational and dimensional models, analytics and reporting.
• Mentor/coach others in a team environment.
Basic Qualifications • Minimum of 5 years of MicroStrategy: version 8 or above (client uses 9.2).
• Minimum of 8 years of BI (Business Intelligence) experience.
• Experience using Microstrategy Architect to design a project including creating facts, attributes, relationships and hierarchies.
• Microstrategy report development including creating metrics, filters, prompts, consolidations, and custom groups.
• Some experience with MicroStrategy SDK (software development kit) to customize the look and feel of the user interface.
• Microstrategy Report Services Document creation (dashboards).
• Performance tuning Microstrategy reports including configuring VLDB settings.
• Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake Schema, OLAP).
• Solid understanding of Agile development methodology.
• Experience with Oracle 10g or higher.
• Independent thinker and self-motivated.
• Be able to lead others and have strong communications skills.
• Strong analytical, problem identification/solving skills as well as strong leadership and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications

• Microstrategy Intelligence Server and Web administration helpful.
