Job Summary
Reporting to the Library Director, the Access Services Librarian administers and maintains the research and discovery tools, databases, ILS, and course reserves. This position maintains a knowledge of current software, issues, tools, and trends, and provides leadership regarding technology and virtual resources.
Job Duties (but not limited to):
- Establish and maintain access to electronic resources
- Negotiate resource contracts, trials, and license agreements
- Maintain the Integrated Library System
- Create original catalog records for the Suber Archives
- Provide technology and electronic-resources leadership
- Evaluate and report on resource usage
- Compile statistics, analyze data, and prepare reports relating to areas of responsibility in support of departmental and library goals.
- Provide library instruction to liaison departments
- Provide research assistance to students and faculty, including some evening duty
- Oversee library technology maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with the Library Director to manage the electronic-resources budget
- Maintain a relationship with GALILEO and GPALS consortia
