Access Services Librarian @ LaGrange College

 

Job Summary

Reporting to the Library Director, the Access Services Librarian administers and maintains the research and discovery tools, databases, ILS, and course reserves. This position maintains a knowledge of current software, issues, tools, and trends, and provides leadership regarding technology and virtual resources.

Job Duties (but not limited to):

  • Establish and maintain access to electronic resources
  • Negotiate resource contracts, trials, and license agreements
  • Maintain the Integrated Library System
  • Create original catalog records for the Suber Archives
  • Provide technology and electronic-resources leadership
  • Evaluate and report on resource usage
  • Compile statistics, analyze data, and prepare reports relating to areas of responsibility in support of departmental and library goals.
  • Provide library instruction to liaison departments
  • Provide research assistance to students and faculty, including some evening duty
  • Oversee library technology maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with the Library Director to manage the electronic-resources budget
  • Maintain a relationship with GALILEO and GPALS consortia
