Assistant/Associate Librarian- Performing Arts @ Humanities University of Kansas

KU Libraries seeks an individual to steward and build collections supporting the research and curricular needs of faculty, staff, and students with a particular emphasis on Music, Music Therapy/Education, Dance, Theater, and Film and Media Studies.

The Performing Arts and Humanities Librarian is a member of the Content Development Department, which is dedicated to the stewardship of the University of Kansas Libraries’ collections in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Members of the Content Development Department work collaboratively to strategically develop and manage the Libraries’ collections in support of the teaching and research programs of the university. The librarian is proactive in evaluating and promoting innovative approaches in developing collections across all disciplines, supporting multiple subject areas as needed. Reporting to the Head of Content Development and working with colleagues in the libraries’ Research Engagement Division, as well as in academic programs, departments and centers, the librarian provides in-depth research consultations and advanced information literacy instruction.

This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position. Rank considerations are based on professional performance, research, and service experience sufficient to qualify for appointment at the rank of Assistant Librarian or Associate Librarian.
