Assistant Director for Research/Worldwide Library Services @ Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU)

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) seeks an Assistant Director for Research/Worldwide (WW) Library Services to coordinate the development of face-to-face and online library instruction sessions, as well as additional learning objects and outreach opportunities.  The Assistant Director will staff reference/research service points to serve the residential campus in Daytona Beach and the distance learning programs.  The Assistant Director will lead or participate in team and special projects as assigned.  Training on aviation subject resources is provided. This position reports to the Associate Director for Research/Worldwide Library Services and will supervise the department in the absence of the Associate Director.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited master’s degree in library science or information studies
  • Minimum of five years of experience in providing reference/research services
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in library instruction
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating or supervising library professionals
  • Strong proficiency with modern library systems and new technologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and listening skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Second master’s degree in a scientific field
  • Experience serving graduate and PhD students
  • Experience in library outreach and liaison communication
  • Experience with collection development input for a specialized curriculum
  • Web content development
  • Familiarity with institutional repositories and/or development of Open Educational Resources
