Collection & Resource Management Librarian @ Gordon State College, GA

SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the Collections and Resource Management Librarian is responsible for managing the development and maintenance of the Hightower Library resources in support of the College’s mission for teaching and learning, research, as well as student success and achievement.
This position will be required to work a weekend rotation and at least one evening a week.

Salary is: 45,463.00

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•             Oversees acquisitions, cataloging, licensing, implementation, assessment and ongoing maintenance of monograph, serials, and electronic collections.

•             Works closely with the Director managing the collections budget.

•             Reports technical issues with access to assigned personnel.

•             Troubleshoot problems arising from ordering, subscriptions, and licensing resources.

•             Explores and integrates appropriate emerging technologies into acquisitions practices to assure effective workflows.

•             Writes and maintains documentation relevant to cataloging and metadata for collections in all formats. Maintaining current knowledge of changes to cataloging standards and rules.

•             Provides training for a Library Technical Assistant.

•             Maintains close relationship with all library functions.

•             Collects statistics and maintains accurate records for the acquisition of monographs, serials and electronic resources.

•             Participates in planning, implementing, and configuring the integrated library system (ILS) as it pertains to acquisitions, monographs, serials, and e-resource functions and public display.

•             Fulfills departmental liaison responsibilities, including collection development and maintenance, instruction, serving on campus committees, and other professional activities.

•             Provides customer services in person and virtually to support faculty, staff, students and the general public.

•             Performs related duties as assigned.
