The University/College Library at Broward College, Davie, FL is a joint-use academic library serving Broward College and Florida Atlantic University. Under the supervision of the Associate Dean of Public Services,
we are seeking a highly motivated, outgoing individual to provide reference services and library instruction in traditional and innovative ways to students and faculty. Candidates should be motivated librarians who can
address the needs of diverse learners and effectively promote library services and resources to the academic community.
Minimum Education:
MLS from an ALA-accredited institution is required. Post-MLS academic library reference experience and demonstrated evidence of technology literacy are preferred.
Minimum Experience/Training:
The successful candidate must have some teaching experience and a commitment to library service and outreach in a diverse community.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated experience in reference and teaching print and online resources in an academic setting
Experience with various online teaching tools, software, and academic learning management systems
Commitment to excellent public service
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a culturally diverse environment
Demonstrated oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of current and emerging trends and technologies in academic libraries
This is a full-time temporary 11-month (213-day) faculty position. The work week will be 5-day, 37.5 hours, including evenings and weekends. The starting salary is $49,113.
