Position:   Librarian II (Cataloging/Database Management)

Salary:       $48,081 Annually

Locations:  Library Annex

Performs original and complex copy cataloging of library materials in various formats, using Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) Connexion and Sirsi/Dynix. Provides ongoing authority control and database maintenance; assists with special cataloging projects and in creating/revising local policies, procedures and documentation. Provides bibliographic training of library staff; aids in quality control of outsourced materials and communicates with vendors as necessary to resolve problems/establish policies and procedures.

Qualifications:  Master’s Degree in Library Science accredited by the American Library Association (ALA); minimum of one (1) year of professional library experience.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Working in a public library; reading Spanish; using OCLC Connexion/Sirsi/Dynix. Also desirable: Knowledge of cataloging rules and

principles/MARC formats/Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).
