Northwestern Oklahoma State University seeks applicants for the position of Research and Instructional Services Librarian. Early career librarians with a prior background or experience in Education are encouraged to apply.
Terms of Employment: Twelve month position with faculty status, non- tenure track position. Salary based on qualifications and experience, but determined by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and President, to be approved by the Regional University System of Oklahoma (RUSO).
Duties and Responsibilities: Selecting, evaluating and assessing the use of instructional methods and materials, providing expertise on the latest trends in library instruction and outreach, identifying and developing necessary reports relevant to instructional sessions and outreach, providing bibliographical instruction and research assistance, providing bibliographical instruction and research assistance on the Woodward campus. The candidate will supervise student assistants as needed, provide assistance with educational content for the libraries’ web pages, participate in planning and implementing special programming in the libraries, engage in professional development, Other duties expected are driving to workshops, professional meetings, and training as needed, performing other work-related duties as assigned, and cooperate as a team member with other library staff in performing any duty essential to the achievement of efficient library operations. Assisting in emergency situations as called upon will be important as well.
Education and Experience: Master of Library and Information Studies from a library school accredited by the American Library Association is required. A Bachelor’s or experience in Education is preferred.
Qualifications: Candidate should possess traits of resourcefulness, efficiency, ability to organize, cooperation, and the ability to instruct staff, faculty, and students.
