Teaching and Learning Librarians @ Oxford College Library Emory University

There are two (2) Teaching and Learning Librarian positions open at Oxford College Library

Responsibilities:

The successful candidates for these positions will develop innovative instruction and learning opportunities, modules, and programs to assist first- and second-year students in building important information literacy abilities.  Librarians play an integral role in support of the College’s inquiry-driven curriculum in collaboration with other teaching librarians and faculty.  Candidates should be comfortable with current and evolving information technologies, including the development and implementation of flipped classroom techniques and tools.  Librarians will, based on interest and expertise, support other library initiatives, such as digital projects, collection development, outreach, and assessment.  Librarians are active members of internal library teams, College and University groups, and have the opportunity to participate in professional organizations.

 

Qualifications:

Required: a graduate degree in librarianship from an ALA-accredited institution; demonstrated effective, discipline-specific teaching experience; knowledge and experience in meeting the research needs of students and faculty in a variety of subject areas; self-motivation; flexibility; strong problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills; initiative and the ability to conceive and carry out projects on a deadline, including managing multiple responsibilities and effectively responding to the needs of a campus community that makes heavy demands on library services; ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

 

Salary and Benefits:

Salary based on qualifications and experience.  These are non-tenure track faculty-equivalent librarian positions that follow a rank and promotion system based on performance, experience, expertise, and contributions.  The library provides generous support for professional development and activities.  Emory University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition benefits.  Several retirement plan options are available, including TIAA/CREF.
