This individual produces Social Media Integrations in entertaining and compelling fashion for multiple Studio shows and events. They are responsible for leading teams as they produce shows and will act as the central communicator between CPs, APs, and PAs throughout all phases of show production, with an emphasis on Social Media content and strategy.
This role is specifically tasked with leading a team of individuals that stay abreast of, appropriately use, and teach others to use, technology and social media to drive show content and creativity.

Responsibilities – Perform as key strategist for all cross-platform integrations and high-profile events
– Represent CP on matters of strategy and execution in all needed situations
– Responsible for launch of all new social technologies
– Responsible for coordination with all 3rd party vendors used for social media integration
– Serve as the go-between for day to day managers & CPs on high-profile projects
– Lead social media integration efforts with Global X Games
– Strategize new ways to drive revenue thru social, working directly with SWAT team
– Prioritize Hispanic Audience Initiative across all social media platforms
– Coordinates with members of the production and technical staffs to create informative and entertaining sports news programs incorporating Social Media content
– Leads the training and coaching of various production staff across the department on the creative and appropriate use of social media to drive show content and brand
– Co-Produce TV shows, including ensuring the integration of social media content on air
– Lead oversight and analysis of meaningful metrics on all social media brand extensions for assigned TV shows
– Participates in or develops concepts and content for assigned sports news stories, including reaching active digital users
– Applies established creative and production skills to identifying and evaluating alternatives and to developing the concept and content of assigned sports news stories
– Works with show producer to make segments flow smoothly within overall show content
– Participates in decisions regarding the full scope of creative, content, production and some cost/benefit decisions for show
– Work is reviewed by the responsible Coordinating Producer at regular intervals and milestones
– Participates in or develops concepts and content for assigned sports news stories to reach viewers and to increase ESPN’s market penetration, ratings and viewership
– Uses mastery of sports knowledge and news judgment to determine the agenda, concepts and content of assigned sports news programs
Basic Qualifications – Minimum six years of progressively complex related studio or related production experience
– Has good production skills related to sporting events
– Fluent in twitter, Facebook, YouTube and a wide variety of social media websites.
– Has a good appreciation of popular culture, e.g., “what’s cool” and assists with defining the tastes of ESPN’s viewers
– Has a good understanding of ESPN’s marketing and strategies
– Has an established knowledge of sports and sports history
– Has and applies strong knowledge regarding technological and social media advances relative to sports news shows
– Is an experienced supervisor with good leadership skills
– Strong organizational and communication skills
– Good writing and copy editing skills
– Knowledge of televisions production and video editing in digital and analog environments
– Detailed technical knowledge required, must have knowledge of what “works” on television and what is realistic to accomplish in time allotted for show production
– Specific knowledge of television production technique used in a digital control room

Preferred Qualifications – Has considerable experience using interactive social and digital media to drive show content
– Has demonstrated ability to train and coach production personnel regarding various production tools and processes, and/or the use of social media
– Has managed Social Media platforms on behalf of major brands
– Has produced live television or original digital video content
– Conversational Spanish preferred
