Position will be located in the Scholars Commons of the University Libraries.

Anticipated Salary Range

The candidate will be hired at $20 per hour.

Qualifications

Masters degree from an ALA-accredited library science program.

Confidentiality Policy

This position requires compliance with University confidentiality policies.

Preferred

Demonstrated experience in the provision of research assistance in an academic setting. Degree in a science discipline or experience working with a science discipline.

Schedule

Hours worked will be between 8:00am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and not to exceed 20 hours in a week.

Time Limited

This position is Time Limited. Assignment not to exceed 6 months.

Responsibilities

Provide Library Outreach Liaison services to academic departments in the sciences.

Provide library instruction, research consultations/reference services, and collection development assistance to the assigned departments.

Build and maintain subject specific LibGuides of library resources and services.

Participate in virtual reference services.

Interact with teaching faculty to effectively communicate library information to the departments and to communicate departmental matters back to the library.

Participate in library liaison group.
