Responsibilities
Provide system and network level security support to audit, test, and confirm technical compliance with the University information technology security policies, programs and best practices. Responsible, in direct collaboration with the Assistant Director, for computer security infrastructure development with special focus in designing, producing, and deploying tools/scripts/programs for monitoring and actively enhancing the security status of the myriad computing resources at FSU. Responsible for developing and scheduling a campus network and subnet scanning program in direct collaboration with the Assistant Director. Assists the Assistant Director with information technology security ticketing monitoring, assignment, follow up, and performance measurement reporting. Assists in the preparation, currency and communication of security score-cards for each campus unit and escalates exposures when not corrected in the appropriate time frame. Assists the Assistant Director in investigating IT security incidents; conducting computer forensics: and also Human Resources Employee Labor Relation or FSU Police Department Investigations as required. Assist in the coordination, design, and production of network, web based and end-user computing security utilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other related degree and four years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma and eight years of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note: or a combination of related post high school education and experience equal to 8 years.) Knowledge of technical security tools (e.g. IPS/IDS, vulnerability scanning tools, web application scanning tools). Experience conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users. Experience utilizing problem solving skills. Experience gathering, interpreting, reporting and/or editing information. Experience and/or knowledge of information technology security measures, standards and best practices.
Preferred
Security Certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, GIAC, CCSP, CompTIA Security +, CISM, SSCP, etc.)
Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipated Salary Range is $48,000 – $50,000.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
Pay Plan
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
