Job Summary:
Responsible for implementation of speech and language goals.
Evaluate student communication skills through formal and informal assessment.
Develop appropriate communication goals/objectives for student’s IEP.
Participate in IEP team planning, development and implementation.
Keep accurate data, notes and attendance.
Provide training/instruction regarding communication skills to family and staff.
Create individualized materials and communication systems.
Work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapist, other SLP’s, teachers, teacher assistants, families and members of school Executive Team.
Follow strict HIPAA guidelines
Supervision:
Supervised by Director of Speech and Language
Job Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications:
M.S or M.A in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Hold a Certificate in Clinical Competence
ASHA Certificate
State of Florida Department of Health Division of Medical Quality Assurance License
Experience:
Experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum
Proficient in the use of Boardmaker, Proloquo2go, Ipads/Ipods for communication and Picture Exchange System.
