Web Graphic Designer

Position Type: Full Time Location: Sunrise, FL

We are looking for a graphics designer who has been working with (X)HTML and CSS for anywhere from 1-4 years. You should know how to write standards-compliant / semantic (X)HTML and CSS for multi-browser and PC/mobile displays. Your work portfolio should demonstrate that you are creative and visual and have a good eye for design.

You should be familiar with tools such as Firebug and IE Developer Tools and use Photoshop, Gimp or Fireworks for image design and understand how to balance image quality and download size. We’ll teach you how to navigate around our Java web application on a Linux server even if you don’t understand its intricacies and we want you to learn a little about scripting markup with Velocity and JQuery. If you are already are familiar with these scripting languages that’s a real plus.

 

Additionally, you’ll participate in designing marketing collateral and client presentations, so flexibility and the ability to manage multiple projects is critical.

 

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Minimum one year work actual experience in designing for online and mobile display
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Information Technology, or related field/equivalent professional experience
  • A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating skills and approach to user-centered design
  • Proficient with:
    • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and InDesign (CS5+) or similar tools
    • Microsoft Office and presentation design in PowerPoint
    • Web development/diagnostic tools such as Firebug or Developer Tools
  • Strong knowledge of grammar and composition rules required for editing and proofreading material.
  • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, and a keen eye for aesthetics
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and team oriented.
  • Experience with Liferay is a real PLUS!
