2008 CI Homecoming "Building our Future by Remembering our Past"

The theme of the 2008 Convocation & Homecoming Ceremonies at the FSU College of Information on Saturday, Nov. 15 is “Building our Future by Remembering our Past.” In keeping with the theme:

  • Michle V. Cloonan, noted author on cultural preservation, will present the 2008 Lazerow Lecture, “Beauty, Knowledge, Service, and Action in the Information Professions.”
  • Sol Hirsch, director of the Alachua County Library System, will be honored as our 2008 Distinguished Alumnus.
  • Photos from throughout the history of the College will be on display within the Goldstein Library. Attendees will be able to annotate photos with the names of people, places, and events as we seek to identify the gaps in our past.
  • We will recognize the scholarship and achievements of our students from the 2008-2009 academic year.
  • Professor emeritus Dr. Tom Hart, who has been working on a history of the College to be added to our website, asks that alumni bring photos of any of the following: a) the fountain running in the lobby of the Shores Building; 2) Dr. Logan; and 3) faculty members from 19952008; 4) anything else that they wish to share.
