Job Description
Reports To: Director, Global IT

Key Responsibility of the Position: The System Administrator will have primary responsibility for ensuring certain functions detailed below are carried out for the company’s global and regional computing environment. This is additional to and separate from, specific functions required for individual projects.

Responsibilities: (With the proper education or experience we will train you to do the following)

Optimization of system and environment availability resulting from good practices in managing hardware, software and communications facilities.
Management of the regions network and telecommunications equipment (Firewalls, routers, switches).
Respond to issues raised within the Help Desk system.
Regular programmed backup of all production systems and data files with tested recoverability.
Software version management across server and client processors, including the inter-operability of multiple software products or modules.
User access and security management.
Hardware and software installations and upgrades to same.
Timely logging of external repair calls to supplier organisations and the supervision through to hand-back of the facility being repaired.
Work with other regions IT teams to ensure consistency of standards and optimal availability and performance of cross regional systems.
Ensure the security of the ADERANT infrastructure and systems by following good practices.
In addition to day to day duties there is a large amount of project based work. This will involve a number of roles – including overall project management, planning, execution, liaison with other IT staff and external providers and  ADERANT users and management. There is generally always a current project active – whether that is planning for an upcoming project or execution.

Skills/Requirements
4 year degree in a technology oriented area of study or equivalent experience
Prefer: Information Engineering Technology,  Management Information Systems,  Computer Information Systems,  Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering,  Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
2 years’ experience with PC and network setup and operations, Windows-based server install and maintenance.
