The Division of Technology and Innovation within the Florida Department of Education is seeking a motivated individual to serve in a full-time position as a Systems Project Consultant.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions.
- The employee must interact courteously with others.

- Employee is expected to demonstrate knowledge, skills and ability to prepare, provide, and disseminate quality products representative of the Department’s commitment to quality, efficient service, and practices.
- Development and implementation of technology standards which includes, but is not limited to, collaboration tools such as Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online; and Microsoft cloud-based mobile device management and mobile application management tools such as Intune, BitLocker software encryption, Azure Active Directory and O365.
- Create technical documentation for all supported software application sand hardware installations. Reconfigure workstations for new and existing clients. Work with other Data Center teams to set up new clients or change existing client configuration of hardware and software.
- Researches, evaluates, and tests new technology in accordance with established team goals and initiatives.
- Incumbent in this position may be required to be in on-call and/or call back status.
- Provides on-site and remote technical assistance to clients through diagnosis of problems and implementation of changes to resolve problems.
- The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities; maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Must be able to dead lift at least 50 lbs.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The employee must be proficient in the installation and troubleshooting of micro-computer hardware and software. Knowledge of office automation operations, procedures, and equipment; knowledge of problem-solving techniques; knowledge of personal computers and software; ability to process information logically and solve problems; ability to develop training programs related to office automation; ability to monitor and resolve problems with automated office systems hardware and software; ability to identify and define user task needs; ability to communicate effectively; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Must have the ability to think logically, to analyze and solve problems. Need to have the ability to interpret technical information relating to computer hardware and software.

POSITION LOCATION:
This position is located at our headquarter location at 325 West Gaines Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399.
BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:
It is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment undergo level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
