Alain Olguin graduated from the School of Communication in Spring 2023 with a Master’s degree in Media and Communication Studies. He now works full-time as a multimedia producer at TelevisaUnivision in Miami.

Working in the operations side of the company, Olguin oversees the NY Lottery Spanish broadcasts on the New York Univision 41 (WXTV) channel. Additionally, he assists in creating content and graphics for all of Univision’s US markets.

“I love what I do,” he said. “Every day there is a new project to work on. From creating graphics for the Qatar World Cup to creating spots for BMW, it is something I always dreamed about.”

He attributes much of his success to his time spent at SCOM, sharing that his Master’s program helped to prepare him for the real world and taught him to be adaptable.

One course that Olguin notably recalls from the program was the Qualitative Methods class with Dr. Wendorf Muhamad, which he credits with preparing him for his current role as a producer.

“I am so proud to have graduated from a prestigious university and be part of the small percentage of Hispanic students graduating with a master’s degree in the United States,” he said.
