Florida State University’s School of Information (iSchool) continues to secure its reputation as a national and international leader in digital education, as the iSchool earns national recognition for its online graduate programs in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings.

“The MSIT has been highly ranked for several years. The ranking is a recognition of the hard work and innovative teaching of the iSchool‘s faculty as well as the highly professional student support provided by our staff. We have been fortunate to attract extremely talented students who take what they learn here at the iSchool and go on to creatively address many of society’s most challenging IT issues in areas such as human-centered data science, cyber intelligence, applied artificial intelligence, management of IT organizations, or health IT,” said FSU iSchool Director Charles Hinnant.
As a leader for Student Veterans, the School of Information also earned distinguished marks for its support of military-affiliated students. The online graduate IT program was recognized as one of the best in the country for veterans, achieving No. 4 among public universities and No. 5 among all national universities.

These rankings reflect the iSchool’s commitment to high standards in student engagement, faculty expertise, and academic services. The 2026 standings highlight the school’s role in maintaining FSU’s dominance in the field of information technology. Florida State University’s School of Information is one of the founding iSchools, offering an undergraduate degree in Information Technology and two nationally-ranked Master’s degrees available entirely online, including a Master’s in Information Technology degree, an ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Information, a Specialist degree in Information, as well as a PhD in Information.
