Marie Davis Receives Peak Personnel Professional of the Year Award 

Marie Davis, Human Resources Manager for the College of Communication and Information (CCI), received the Peak Personnel Professional of the Year Award from FSU’s University Business Administrators (UBA). 

The award recognizes a UBA representative who consistently provides exceptional service, expertise, and support in managing departmental HR needs. From job offers and onboarding to time and leave, PD updates, and beyond, recipients are recognized for their ability to anticipate needs, meet deadlines, and serve as a valuable resource for faculty and staff. 

The UBA hosts an appreciation celebration every year to recognize employees and the excellent work they have done throughout the year. The UBA team for CCI consists of the employees who manage the financial and HR functions for the schools and the Dean’s Office. 

“Receiving this award means a great deal to me because it represents being seen and appreciated for the work I do every day,” said Davis. “While I’m honored to receive this recognition, I know it reflects the support of the amazing colleagues, faculty, and staff I work with every day.” 

The CCI Dean, Dr. Michelle Kazmer, praised Davis’s dedication and exceptional service.

Her high levels of expertise and skill are seamlessly matched with infinite patience and a proactive approach to every situation. She is incredibly deserving, and I’m delighted she won this award.” 

Davis credits her education, experience, and commitment to lifelong learning for helping her grow in her role. With a Bachelor of Science in Information, Communication, and Technology and Master of Science in Information Technology from FSU, as well as 20 years of experience in human resources and administrative operations – being 10 of them at FSU. 

“CCI feels like home, and I’m grateful to work alongside so many dedicated and talented individuals,” said Davis.
