New Goldstein Librarian

Pamala Doffek has joined the faculty of the School of Information Studies at Florida State University as the Goldstein Librarian. Beginning on Monday, Dec. 13, she will continue the School’s tradition by being the lead of the teaching library.

“I’m excited to be part of the innovation going on at the School of Information Studies and FSU,” said Pamala recently, “I look forward to making a contribution to the Goldstein Library’s being a leading edge facility, and to our program’s advancement, with the help and support of the faculty, staff and students, both local and distance learners.”

Pamala comes to the School from the Naval General Library Program in Pensacola. In her role as Fleet & Shore Librarian, she assisted the program director with oversight and policy guidance for a vast network of naval libraries. She has over ten years experience in providing basic and specialized reference services to military members, civilian employees, and their family members. In addition, she has six years of experience as a technical training instructor, which will provide a solid background for presentations, communications, and planning academic curricula and instruction. Pamala earned her MLS in Library Science at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Please join us in welcoming her to the School.
