The intern will  gain practical experience in cataloging (copy and original cataloging) art-subject related books using the LCCN subject headings and call numbers. The intern will also gain experience utilizing established taxonomies, and crosswalks between MARC and Dublin Core languages, using Past Perfect Museum Management Software.  The intern will also process, label and organize these cataloged books. If time allows, the intern will begin a serials cataloging project.

Hours: 10-15 hrs/wk, 12 weeks; unpaid. Flexible hours: any time.

Monday-Sat 10:30-4:00; Sunday 12-4:00 pm.

This is NOT a virtual position; intern must be physically present to complete the project.

Required Qualifications:
*Current MLIS Graduate or current MLIS student, with at least 9 graduate credits of library science, with at least 3  of those credits in cataloging or metadata, OR at least 3 months practical experience cataloging.
*Independent, reliable worker, comfortable working in seclusion for a majority of the hours with little to no supervision.
*Easily learns new computer programs, with little instruction apart from an online instruction manual.
