The library, located on the bay in Panama City, Florida, is seeking an enthusiastic INTERN to assist with reference and instruction. The internship pays $15/hour for a minimum of 30 hours/week (maximum 37.5) and is available for both Spring and Summer 2011 terms. Candidates should have completed at least 24 credit hours toward the Masters Degree in Library Studies.

The primary functions of the position are to assist patrons in using the library print and online resources,  to assess patron needs, to determine the best information to meet those needs, to search for and instruct patrons in how to find and acquire accurate information.

Candidates will have the opportunity to

1.     Assist patrons using Library of Congress classification, the online catalog, electronic journals and databases, and other resources

2.     Instruct patrons one-on-one

3.     Answer questions for Ask-A-Librarian

4.     Assist with course-integrated instruction

5.     Create subject guides and tutorials
