School of Communication alumna Krista Witiak was awarded an Emmy for her series “Outdoor Colorado!” The series was awarded in the Lifestyle/Magazine/Informational/Instructional – Short Form Content category at the 2024 Emmys on July 20. Witiak won alongside her photojournalist, Ray Harless. “This win acknowledges the countless hours and effort I’ve put into the Outdoor Colorado series. This marks a significant milestone in my career, and I can only imagine the doors and new opportunities that it opens up,” Witiak said.

School of Information (iSchool) adjunct professor Christie Koontz and retired faculty Lorri Mon have been called to write the third edition of their book, “Marketing and Social Media: A Guide for Libraries, Museums and Archives!” Koontz and Mon initially collaborated on their first book in 2014 after teaching innovative marketing and social media management classes for the iSchool at Florida State University.

CCI Students Present at National Technology Conference

From June 26-30, ten College of Communication and Information (CCI) students and one CCI alumna presented at the National Technology Student Association (TSA) Conference in Orlando, Florida. The students who attended, all members of the FSU Students & Technology in Academia, Research, and Service (STARS) alliance, presented in seven sessions addressing collaboration, leadership, and teamwork to audiences of over 1,000 TSA members from all around the country.
