A School of Information alumnus Joseph Dellosa (M.S. ‘23) and current Information master’s student Jazmin Jimenez were awarded Florida Library Association (FLA) Awards earlier this year. FLA awards honor different individuals, organizations, and additional library supporters who extend help to their library system. Dellosa and Jimenez were both awarded The Betty Davis Miller Youth Services Award which recognizes an individual or group for their outstanding program creation which offers direct service to youth through a measurable impact.

School of Communication Science and Disorders Professor Receives Distinguished Scholars Award

Dr. Elizabeth Madden, an assistant professor in the School of Communication Science and Disorders, was awarded the Tavistock Trust for Aphasia 2024 Distinguished Scholars Award. This award recognizes research excellence related to quality-of-life issues in aphasia. It is given, in part, to recognize scholarly excellence in research and publications dedicated to improving life with aphasia and to foster and encourage pioneering research that aims to make a difference in the everyday lives of people living with aphasia, their families, and caregivers.

Sunny Park Presented at an ICA Regional Conference

Doctoral student Sunny Park and School of Communication Associate Professor Rachel Bailey attended the International Communication Association (ICA) Regional Conference in Dijon, France from May 23-25. Their exploration in food communication did not end at the convention. Additionally, Director of the School of Communication, Patrick Merle, arranged Park and Bailey with a private tour and wine tasting.
