Dania Bilal, professor at University of Tennessee, has been named a Faculty Trailblazer. The professor of information science’s research focuses on how children use information retrieval systems, such as Google, to find information. Her research earned her the competitive Google Research Award to study children’s ability to read and understand Google search results.
Dania received her Master’s degree and her doctorate from the College of Communication and Information. She joined University of Tennessee in 1997 and has since become one of the most cited authors in the world in her area of study.
“Dania Bilal is a prolific researcher and a great teacher,” said Mike Wirth, dean of the College of Communication and Information.
