CCI Alumna Brittany Holland Becomes Director of Media Strategy and Planning for the NBA

CCI Alumna Brittany Holland recently became promoted to Director of Media Strategy and Planning for the NBA.

Holland graduated from Florida State in 2014 with a BS in Information Communication Technology. During her time at FSU, she was involved with several CCI organizations like the CCI Leadership Council, STARS Alliance, Women in IT/ICT Sharing Experiences, and Advertising Club. Holland also assisted with the development of the PEEPs program, which is intended to keep current CCI students connected to alumni around the globe. She credits her time at FSU with stimulating her interest in both advertising and technology, two fields that she blends into her current career.

“I was interested in advertising but loved the tech side of the business more than anything, which my courses gave me a great intro to in multiple areas and most importantly a base layer of understanding how things are built on the back end,” Holland told CCI. “While I have spent a majority of my focus working in digital, I also cover strategy and media planning across “offline” channels such as billboards, tv, etc. and measuring the impact these campaigns make on larger business goals. I’m excited that my interest in tech and data has led me to such a data-driven role and company that continues to push for innovation within the industry and social good at large.”

Holland has been with NBA Marketing since 2016, first working as a Marketing Coordinator, before making her way to the Director level. Her advice for current CCI students would be. “Stay curious and ask questions. Although I didn’t major in Marketing or Advertising while at FSU, I followed my passion for innovation and interest in digital industry advancements that eventually led me to the NBA. Keep in touch with your growing network (this includes peers and professors!) This is an invaluable resource that will continue to give back throughout your career.”
