iSchool Alumna Elected FSU Faculty Senate President

The College of Communication and Information (CCI) congratulates alumna Bridgett Birmingham (M.S. ‘04) on her election as Florida State University’s Faculty Senate President.

Birmingham has been a part of the FSU faculty since 2004 and has served as a faculty senator since 2012. She has also served on the university’s Enrollment Management Committee for ten years, the Strategic Planning Committee from 2015 to present, the Honors Program Policy Committee for five years, and the Faculty Senate Steering Committee since 2014. In her role as Faculty Senate President, Birmingham also serves as on the Florida State University Board of Trustees.

“I am extremely grateful to have Senate President Birmingham as a colleague at Florida State University, and am proud that she is an alumna of our college,” said Dr. Michelle Kazmer, Dean of the College of Communication and Information. “Ms. Birmingham was one of the first students I taught during my faculty career here, and I have always admired her extraordinary professional expertise and her deftness in leadership.”

Birmingham currently works as a University Librarian and was named the FSU Fred Standley Librarian of the Year in 2016. CCI wishes her continued success as the Faculty Senate President.
