When being interviewed for a job, the employer asked what were some accomplishments at Florida State that I was most proud of. I was able to tell her how I engaged my university and community in powerful ways, through the Garnet & Gold Scholar Society. The program has already been impactful in my post-grad pursuits… and I learned that my employer was a GGSS inductee, herself!
– Mercy Joy Corlew
“The GGSS gave me a chance to take a step back and ask, “why was this internship or research project important to me? What did I learn from it?” Self-discovery played a big role.”
– Daniel Wind
“I have learned so much from participating in the GGSS. I was always highly involved in the various aspects of campus, but this program gave me a platform through which I could integrate my involvement and apply it to a successful future.”
– Kendra Scholz
“The involvement opportunities at Florida State are endless. Garnet and Gold Scholar Society helps tie our experiences together and reflect on them, helping us understand the meaning and purpose behind everything we’ve accomplished. I’ve been able to use my reflections to talk about my feats in a way that is appealing to employers — and it felt great to be recognized at graduation with my peers!”
– Lissette Calveiro
