THT establishes itself in the College

Transfers Helping Transfers (THT) is a student organization launched in 2014 as a project in the IT Leadership class, the student led organization has a goal to help transfer students adjust and feel more acquainted on FSU’s Campus.  Besides providing a “home” to learn about what FSU has to offer transfer students, the group assigns mentors to new transfers, participates in intramurals and social events, and has adopted the FSU Food Pantry as its philanthropy.  The group’s goal is to, “help you transition into a true ‘Nole alongside other transfer students and become a member of our Seminole Nation!”

“We have students from all over the country,” shared Meredith Robinson, THT president. The list included University of Alabama, American University D.C., State College of Florida, TCC, Santa Fe, UNF and more. With 90 active members representing every major from Sociology to Finance, THT is a campus-wide group based out of the College of Communication and Information that recently made an even larger impact.

The popular establishment offered a beer or cookie skillet in exchange for three canned goods. The food drive brought in 354 canned goods, equating to 118 participants at Madison Social. “As an organization, we exceeded our expectations and are overwhelmed with excitement for providing assistance to our Seminole’s in need,” said Meredith.  Last semester, the group raises $250 through bake sales for the Food Pantry.

You do not have to be a Transfer student to join and those interested are encouraged to get involved. Find out more on THT’s Twitter and Facebook.
