The Florida State University (FSU) Speech and Hearing Clinic was selected as the Best Hearing Aid/ Hearing Specialist Center in Tallahassee in the 2024 Tallahassee Community Choice Awards this September!
“We are honored to know our hard work and commitment to Tallahassee and surrounding communities is being recognized. This also serves as a motivator to continue striving for excellence,” said Dr. Selena Snowden, the Associate Director of the School of Communication Science and Disorders and the Director of Audiology Services for the FSU Speech and Hearing Clinic.
The award was achieved through a three-part process, beginning with public nominations, followed by voting by members of the Tallahassee community, and finalized with the announcement in the Tallahassee Democrat in September 2024.
The audiology team consists of Dr. Selena Snowden, Dr. Catherine Johnson, and Dr. Chelsea Alexander who are dedicated to providing exceptional audiology care through the latest technology and best practices. The clinic is centered on a technique of understanding the individual needs of every patient to receive the most personalized treatment. Services such as auditory rehabilitation, counseling, and support are integrated for patients and their families, contributing towards the clinic’s recognition in the community.
“We hope this award makes our services known to those who might otherwise go unserved for their hearing healthcare,” said Dr. Snowden. “Additionally, we hope this opens opportunities for future collaborations on research initiatives to advance the field of audiology.”
The audiology team says they are grateful for the opportunity to serve in the Tallahassee area for its rich array of patient experiences, aiding in the enhancement of students’ learning and professional development.
